{"id":1147,"date":"2013-01-07T11:06:51","date_gmt":"2013-01-07T09:06:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hen.co.za\/blog\/?p=1147"},"modified":"2013-01-07T11:06:51","modified_gmt":"2013-01-07T09:06:51","slug":"2013-the-year-after-the-end-of-the-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hen.co.za\/blog\/2013\/01\/2013-the-year-after-the-end-of-the-world\/","title":{"rendered":"2013 &#8211; the year after the end of the world"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So we&#8217;ve survived the end of the world (Mayan calendar joke) and we&#8217;re stuck with ourselves&#8230; so to speak.<\/p>\n<p>Some things to remember 2012 by (that I took interest in)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Olympic games in London<\/li>\n<li>People that passed away that I had respect for: Neil Armstrong, Ernest Borgnine, Patrick Moore, Whitney Houston<\/li>\n<li>Riaan\u00a0Cruywagen retired!<\/li>\n<li>The end of the world&#8230; that didn&#8217;t happen!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What can we look forward to in this new year? Lets see<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows 8\/RT will be a spectacular&#8230; failure<\/li>\n<li>Androids will take over (as long as they&#8217;re not paranoid)<\/li>\n<li>Prices will go up&#8230; but at least the rain will come down (if any)<\/li>\n<li>More politics and violence going nowhere<\/li>\n<li>More strikes&#8230; over crap issues<\/li>\n<li>I ran out of ideas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On a personal front, my family will grow by one soon. That will probably keep us busy for the rest of the year.
